Personal Projects
New, more personal projects that I work on in my spare time include the
following sites:
- Antique Home &
Style—Antique Home was a watershed event for me. It
brought together my love of old houses, writing, photography, research,
and publishing on the web. I've continued with my reference collection,
research, and publishing using this domain and expect to continue
until Death removes me from this mortal coil.
- Mid Century Home Style—Antique Home & Style focuses on American residential
housing before WWII. Midcentury Home Style covers the War years and the
two decades following.
- Small House Living—Houses
less than 1500 square feet were once the norm for millions of American
families. In support of the Small House Movement, I am offering articles
and resources.
- Small Planet Living—Living
sustainably doesn't have to be painful. On SPL, we're putting together
articles and resources (using Demesne as a model) so taking the first
few steps and beyond is easy and maybe even fun.
- Garden Arts—A
while ago, I spent the requisite time to become a Master Gardener in Washington
County through the Oregon State University Extension Service. I'm a relative
newbie to the whole thing, but enjoy helping other gardeners get the info
they need that is accurate and research based. I doff my cap to the other
gardeners who are so incredibly knowledgeable.
- Nyman-Ferrill Genealogy—I
love history and research so have constructed a web site dedicated to
organizing and publishing my family history.
